To Be Free
For years, I took my freedom for granted. But that is no longer the case. I’ve realized it is one of the greatest gifts—and responsibilities—we possess.
As we celebrate the Fourth of July, consider what freedom means to you and how critical it is for humanity.
“The function of freedom is to free someone else.” — Toni Morrison
How can you help free another?
Maybe you’re called to support those living under an oppressive government. Or perhaps you immediately think about a friend caught in an abusive relationship. And I suppose there are those who may view this question in an abstract light—knowing forgiveness is their way to facilitate another’s (or their own) freedom.
Regardless of how you answer this question, let’s remember everyone deserves to be free.
“Life without liberty is like a body without a spirit.” — Kahlil Gibran
