Anagrams

I bet you didn’t realize that when you shift the positions of letters in the word listen you form silent. How beautiful is that? After all, we cannot hear another—or our inner voice—unless we become quiet. And while it might appear as though we’re listening, unless we squelch the surrounding noise, we’re apt to miss the message another is trying to share.

Perhaps that’s why I struggle with conversations during parties. The discussion occurring next to me lures me away, making it difficult to truly hear the person I’m talking with. I want to focus on this individual, but the noise in my periphery pulls me in various directions, keeping me from connecting with the one in front of me.

However, when I focus and have internal silence, I can truly listen. That’s when I best relate, hold space, and if asked, offer support. Free from distraction, pure communication occurs. Messages are received as intended, not muddled by superfluous noise.

Another beautiful anagram is how earth becomes heart.

It isn’t always easy to live from the heart. Spending excessive time on social media, maintaining toxic relationships out of guilt, over-doing to the point of exhaustion, or harshly judging ourselves or others lead us down a spiraling rabbit hole where focusing on the negative feels more natural than seeing the silver linings. Our heads drive, relegating our hearts to the back seat. It’s these moments when we rely on analysis, facts, and probabilities instead of leading with compassion, love, and hope. By following the “practical approach,” it’s easy to lose the spirit of “what if?”.

Many people live this way. Sure, everything may be fine, but they lack inspiration, curiosity, and a sense of awe. They move forward, but the journey isn’t much fun. Perhaps that’s why our culture seems hooked on finding purpose and happiness. Yet, maybe what we’re really searching for is heart.

I don’t know about you, but whenever my heart feels unsettled, walking in nature lifts my mood. There’s something about being outside in the presence of majestic trees, feeling the breeze on my cheeks, and smelling the junipers that grounds me. Suddenly, life feels lighter, my body recalibrates, and my vibration rises. But there’s more. Being in nature helps shift my operating system from my mind to my heart. It’s then I remember … not only who I am at my core, but also that there is so much more than this life. Something greater exists.

Of course, not every anagram has a deep meaning. There are plenty that have no connection. Here’s one with a humorous twist. Stressed shuffled becomes desserts. No doubt, when we are under pressure, we’re apt to reach for a cookie, take or fork-full of chocolate cake, or head to the freezer for that pint of sea salt caramel ice cream to calm the unease within. After all, desserts nurture us, providing a sensation of being held, reassured, loved.

What anagrams can you find? Are any particularly meaningful for your journey? I’d love to hear what you discover.

May 2026 encourage us to listen, open our hearts, and yes, enjoy some delicious desserts. How sweet would that be?
